What A Bit Of Influence Can Do

I have never been a huge football fan, but the following link sparked off something for me that I think is worth mentioning here, if only briefly. A feeling that actually football can be a really good thing for bringing people together (even when it is to watch shockingly bad football being “played”), and bringing people together is just what we’re going to have to do in order to change the general attitude to global warming (which right now needs a serious boost I think anyone would agree). Find the article at Enigin Stories.
Imagine what would happen if you could get every person who goes to a football game to talk to their neighbour in the stands about how they save on carbon emissions and the like? It would be a revolution! Now, if you ask me, anything that can cause such a tidal wave of mass change can’t be a bad thing (just make sure you don’t try and strike up a conversation with the guy next to you if he isn’t wearing the same shirt as what you’re wearing…somehow I doubt that however bad global warming gets, nothing will ever be able to over-ride this kind of rivalry). Now imagine if all those fans went home and talked to their friends about it, and their families swapped ideas about recycling. Things would really happen then. And who knows, maybe it isn’t too far off. Sooner or later manufacturers will need to advertise their energy-saving products and where better to do it than at the pitch?
